APOD: 2004 October 31 - Halloween and the Ghost Head Nebula

Cool pic
Make sure you check out the archives for more.

Deserado

Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
You been out ridin’ fences for so long now
Oh, you’re a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin’ you
Can hurt you somehow

Don’t you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She’ll beat you if she’s able
You know the queen of heats is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can’t get

Desperado, oh, you ain’t gettin’ no youger
Your pain and your hunger, they’re drivin’ you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that’s just some people talkin’
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don’t your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won’t snow and the sun won’t shine
It’s hard to tell the night time from the day
You’re loosin’ all your highs and lows
Ain’t it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin’, but there’s a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it’s too late

Sucks

What a wonderful evening?!?!?! Can you sense the sarcasm there? Kathy bolted as soon as we got uptown. Went back to Ed's for whatever reason. Then Kat and Jeremy got into an argument. Now they are fighting. So here I am back at my place at 12:30/11:30 depending on when you set your clocks back. Yeah remember to do that people. So as I said...SUCKS

UPDATE 10:33am:
I did post some pix here.

UPDATE 2 10:42am:
In response to Kate's comment
Going into the evening everything was fine. And they are the ones that usually drag me out. So I do not know what was up last night. I could blame it one the full moon I guess. And yes I could have just stayed uptown, but two reasons I didn't:
1. A little too crowded for one person(atleast for me)
2. Not spending 2.50 on bottles of beer

So it is Halloween. The time of spook, specters, and ghost. Not to mention ghouls, witches and vampires. Heck it is that time when you can be whatever the hell you want to be. Let your imagination go. Have fun and be safe.

Homecoming Weekend

Well it's Homecoming weekend here at OU. Luke and Kate and the rest should be arriving in about 6-7 hours. This should be a busy weekend. Keep an eye on EAGPhotos for any pix and maybe an audio blog or two here. I have a plan for a three part audio post if someone(s) will do it, maybe even a guest post, not sure. Time to get ready for the madness that is to come.

Almost 40 hours

What does that mean...that is how long I have been awake. Why? To write a program for my class. Now I am just getting a little giddy and goofy. I think that I will put flowers in the background of the blog and make it all pretty like. What do you think? OH and make it all pink and light blue with some lace. Yeah that is what I am going to do.

WTF am I saying?!?!

Problems

Why no posts lately? It is not that I haven't tried because I have. For some reason I have been having problems posting to my blog. I deleted several posts hoping that there was a problem there, but nothing. So I finally went into my template and resaved it and now all is good. Well almost, I need to remember what I put in those posts that I deleted so I can get them reposted. That will be for another time, after this weekend.

In a age of myth and legend, when ancient gods plagued mankind with suffering - only one man dared to challenge their power. HERCULES!
Sorry I should be studying for my Theater History midterm but for some reason reading about ancient Greece just makes me want to watch...HERCULES! Yes, yes I am such a geek I know. Ok back to HERCULES! no got to study.

More updates from Microsoft

I should have posted this yesterday morning but just got around to it, actually I kind of forgot but did update my computer. There is a new set of Windows Updates from Microsoft under the SP2 package. If you have auto-update on this may have already been downloaded for you, if you are unsure or have turned off auto-update go to Windows Update now to get the latest patches. These are supposed to fix the holes in IE and fix that problem with jpeg images. Make sure you get these updates ASAP.

My blog of whatever

I will be heading up to the Elizabeth Evans Baker Theater at Kanter Hall in about half an hour to see The Laramie Project, need to see it for one of my classes. I just got done listening to Wil Wheaton and Steve Wozniak's presentations at Gnomedex 4.0: The Geeks-Gone-Wild again. The audio is up at IT Conversations. I have so got to get Wil's books. He is the man. Anyways I figured that I should post something since it has been awhile, like what...one day. I have been working on a post about RSS and how to use it. That should be up sometime in the next couple of days once I get all the links together and test a couple other news aggregaters. Until then, click ya later.

Made it back about 45 minutes ago. So glad to be back here. I think the festival was a bust this year, they shut down at around 10-10:30 Sat night, it was scheduled till midnight. I was in Dover helping some friends with their computer problem and when I called on my way back down at 10:45 my mom said everything was closed up. So I got there and helped them load up their stuff and went home. Anyways I am back here now and need to study some more for a midterm tomorrow.

What would you like to see

Any Blogger user saw this on the front page:

Friday Fun
I started trying to track down the origins of this idea but then I realized that my sweater was completely unraveled. Still, a bunch of bloggers with cameras are having fun with it so here goes: Ask your readers to think of three photos they'd like to see posted to your blog. (Things around your house or whatever.) When you have enough requests, post them!

So I thought that this would be a good idea. So go ahead let me know through email, comments, IM, or even snailmail if you perfer. And I will see whtat I can do.

Fourteen Characteristics of a Serial Killer

DrPhil.com - Advice
How Many Do You Have!

LMAO!!!!!! I hate Dr. Phil but this is just too funny. According to this I could or should be a serial killer, not sure which. They did not say how many apply in order for it to be true. And the more I think about it, several others in my family could be serial killers according to this. I guess that is what you get when you come from a small backwoods town.

Gnomedex 4.0

GEEKS GONE WILD!!!! Brought to you by Chris Pirillo and Lockergnome
I so wish I was there. But I get to do the next best thing...listen to the speakers in real time on the web (click here for live audio during the conference). Yes!!! That is what I did today and will be doing tomorrow. Yeah I know, 'I am such a geek'. Well you know what, I am, and damn proud of it. Come on, what geek would not want to hear Steve 'The Woz' Wozniak talk about the beginning of Apple Computers or panels talking about the future of tech, gadgets, and blogs. How about Wil Wheaton? He will be there Sat. Yes geeks, geeks, and more geeks, the place I would like to be.
